Each week, Team Owl (Year 6) and Team Badger (Year 5) engage in buddy reading sessions with our youngest pupils. During these sessions, the older pupils listen attentively as the younger ones read their phonics books. This initiative not only fosters a love of reading but also enhances the younger pupils’ confidence and fluency. The session concludes with the older pupils reading aloud to the younger ones with expression, enriching their literary experience. It is a highlight of the week for everyone involved.
