Welcome to Longtown Primary School, part of Cumbria Education Trust, where our philosophy for learning strives for all children to be the very best they can be.

We are a community orientated, nurturing school where every child is valued and their unique and special gifts are celebrated.

Our school team have chosen the privileged position of working with children because we want to make sure every day counts in their precious lives. We acknowledge the individuality of each child and aim to give every encouragement and opportunity to develop each of their unique abilities.

Our children are at the heart of every decision we make and we hope that, by growing within our school community, our pupils will become citizens who contribute positively to society both in their work and leisure activities. Equally, we work incredibly hard to ensure our children are immersed in fun and laughter, take part in exciting and interesting experiences and leave primary school with many happy memories.

We enjoy working in partnership with parents to ensure children find school a positive and rewarding experience. We strongly believe achievement and enjoyment go hand in hand and we welcome parents into school on many occasions to share the children’s successes and achievements.

During our recent Ofsted visit, where the school received its very first GOOD judgement, our teachers were praised for bringing learning to life and our children were praised for their impeccable behaviour.

We have a really supportive PTA, who meet regularly and plan extra special activities for our children within the community.

Any prospective parents wishing to visit our school are very welcome to make an appointment by telephoning 01228 791203 and we look forward to sharing how wonderful our school is!
