Welcome to Longtown Primary School, part of Cumbria Education Trust, where our philosophy for learning strives for all children to be the very best they can be.

We are a community orientated, nurturing school where every child is valued and their unique and special gifts are celebrated.

Our school team have chosen the privileged position of working with children because we want to make sure every day counts. We acknowledge the individuality of each child and aim to give every encouragement and opportunity to develop each of their unique abilities.

Our children are at the heart of every decision we make and we hope that, by growing within our school community, our pupils will become citizens who contribute positively to society both in their work and leisure activities. Equally, we work incredibly hard to ensure our children are immersed in fun and laughter, taking part in exciting and interesting experiences and leave primary school with many happy memories.

We enjoy working in partnership with parents to ensure children find school a positive and rewarding experience. We strongly believe achievement and enjoyment go hand in hand and we welcome parents into school on many occasions to share the children’s successes and achievements.

Our last Ofsted visit, where the school received a GOOD judgement, praised our teachers for bringing learning to life and our children were praised for their impeccable behaviour.

We have a really supportive PTA, who meet regularly and plan extra special activities for our children within the community.

The staff, children and governors are all extremely proud of Longtown Primary School and are always pleased to show current or prospective parents around so that you can see for yourself what we have on offer. If you would like to make an appointment, please contact us on 01228 791203. We look forward to sharing our wonderful school with you.
