RESPECT. RESPONSIBILITY. RESILIENCE | Be the best you can be
Our Vision
At Longtown Primary School, we are dedicated in providing every child with an aspirational, all-encompassing, forward-thinking, first-class education rooted in traditional values. Central to our ethos are respect, resilience, and responsibility, inspiring pupils to ‘be the best they can be’.
We prioritise teaching valuable life skills, offering diverse extracurricular opportunities, and fostering a caring, inclusive environment.
Our commitment ensures that every child develops into an independent, responsible, and well-rounded member of the local community, laying a firm foundation for life.
Our Values
At Longtown Primary School, our shared values of ‘Respect, Responsibility, and Resilience’ underpin every aspect of our work.
We are committed to fostering an environment that encourages friendship, kindness, empathy, respect, good humour, and teamwork among our pupils.
Since joining Cumbria Education Trust in 2016, we have embraced this opportunity to collaborate with our partner Trust Primary Schools, working diligently to secure the very best outcomes for our children in a positive and purposeful manner, and we continually strive to exceed their expectations.
Promoting British Values
In accordance with The Department for Education we aim to actively promote British values in schools to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain. Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, all individuals residing in Britain are subject to its laws, fostering a cohesive and inclusive society.
The Key Values are:
- democracy
- rule of law
- individual liberty
- mutual respect
- tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs
