To parents of pupils in the Brampton Area Schools Cluster,
Following on from previous communications, from Monday 30th March, all eligible pupils aged 4-11 from all Brampton Consortium primary schools will have access to emergency keyworker childcare at Warwick Bridge School.
Pupils aged under 4 or over 11 will be offered places at different hubs around Carlisle. Please contact your school’s headteacher or the Local Authority to find out where this will be.
The hub will be staffed by volunteers from schools across the cluster, working on a rota basis.
It will offer childcare provision between the hours of 8:30am and 5:00pm, Monday to Friday and will have an initial capacity of 15 pupils.
To access the provision, at least one parent must be a keyworker in a role critical to the Covid-19 response.
In line with current government advice, this childcare should only be used if there is no other option available to you. If there is anybody else available who can offer appropriate childcare, then your child should stay at home with them.
BOOKING ARRANGEMENTS
All bookings must be made at least 24 hours prior to using the provision. This is so that we can ensure it can be staffed at appropriate ratios.
You can access an online booking form here:
Individual bookings for each occasion you require the hub must be made.
You can also contact the hub directly via phone or email to enquire about places:
Phone: 01228 560 390 (during office hours)
Email: childcarehub@warwickbridge.cumbria.sch.uk
Your own school’s headteacher will also be able to offer guidance on whether you are eligible for the provision at the hub.
ARRIVING AT THE HUB
Full procedures for arrivals are still being finalised.
However, you will have to register your child on the first day they use the hub, and provide emergency contact details as well as evidence of your key worker status. You should anticipate a delay on the first day to allow for this paperwork to be completed, particularly in light of physical distancing guidance.
Children should attend in their normal school uniform.
There is no onsite catering and they will require a packed lunch to be provided if staying over lunchtime.
Yours sincerely
The Headteachers of the Brampton Area Schools Consortium.
