Over 300 pupils from 11 local primary schools competed in the annual Talkin Tarn Cross Country event on Friday, 9th November. There were three competitions, boys, girls and mixed with an award also given out for the best overall school. The event was organised by Mr Spencer from Fir Ends School and supported by Sports Leaders from William Howard School who helped to marshal, give out finishers tokens and calculate the results.
We entered three full teams and even had twelve extra fun-runners! Although the temperature was low and the wind speed high, our runners showed fantastic resilience and gave it the best of their ability – with three of our pupils finishing in the top ten. Fantastic effort all, well done.
