As I am sure you are aware, demand for places within our Critical Worker and vulnerable children Hub provision is growing and I feel it is important to share openly with you our rationale.
After last night’s announcements it is important I share with you an update on the current situation at school. Longtown Primary School is now a HUB school, it is open for the most vulnerable pupils and the children of key workers.
Following my communication with you yesterday, I want to update you and let you know that we will open only for the most vulnerable pupils and the children of key workers on Tuesday 5th and Wednesday 6th January.
I hope you and your families are safe and well at this time and you have had a peaceful Christmas and New Year.
I promised to contact you regarding how we were going to take forward the Government’s ambition that some Primary year groups would return to school starting at the earliest from June 1st.
Guidance was received from the government yesterday on the measures to be taken to facilitate the safe opening of schools to certain year groups, at the very earliest date of 1st June.
Our Prevent colleagues have been working with the Department of Education to create a leaflet around online safety.
The Childcare hubs are up and running we are working hard to ensure that the needs of key workers are met.
I wanted to get in touch at the end of what has been a tumultuous week within our communities.
